Night czar would be a 'gamechanger' for Edinburgh's late-night economy

Neil Logan, founder of charity Street Assist, is among the most outspoken campaigners for a night czar post in Edinburgh.

He and his team of volunteers – mostly young trainee paramedics and student doctors – head out on the streets every Friday and Saturday night, helping people get home safe.

Street Assist are delighted to have received the support of the Edinburgh Theatre Company who on the 22nd & 23rd of March have been performing 'Last Night at Loco's'

Street Assist will be attending the Edinburgh Meadows Marathon

Byron's Story

Street Assist recently received a donation of a bleed kit from Zoe Cooke. Zoe tragically lost her son Bryon to knife crime in 2021 and has been campaigning to raise awareness and fundraise around the Nottingham area.

Edinburgh Street Assist joined by Love Island star on busy Saturday night shift

Street Assist have been aware of this amazing app for some time and with permission from the Trust have promoted it on our socials. Hollie Guard was founded due to the tragic death of Holly Gazzard who was murdered by her ex-partner. This app keeps individuals safe when app notifies the trusted contact with location, audio and video evidence.

Priya Gopaldas who was featured on season seven of the reality show and is also a fifth-year medical student, joined the busy team as they hit the streets to help anyone in need on November 12.
