"I can't believe we are celebrating our tenth anniversary this year. It doesn't seem that long ago that a small group of volunteers met and decided to create Street Assist, borrowing a converted mobile triage bus and positioning ourselves outside Silk Night Club on King Stables Road.

Everyone at Street Assist is very proud of the work we do. Assisting over 10,000 people, forming amazing partnerships and receiving so much support from the public, and we've won a few awards along the way too. 

 

It's not just about helping people identified as vulnerable, it's about our amazing volunteers, past and present, who have donated many hours of their time and skills to help keep people safer in Edinburgh. 

 

I am also very proud that so many of our volunteers have used the Street Assist volunteering experience to gain places at college and university to study relevant degrees and courses. More than 200 of our volunteers have gone on to gain employment in the Emergency Services, NHS, Armed Forces and Care Sector. 

 

As we look forward to our anniversary year, we have some exciting plans to mark the occasion including developing our project, our profile and our fundraising further to ensure another 10 years of success."
